Volunteer for 88Nine

You’ve probably heard us say it many times on the air: “Radio Milwaukee is listener-supported.”

And not just supported by dollars. (Although, just for the record, dollars are super important.)

As a listener-supported, independent radio station, we rely on the generosity of dedicated volunteers to expand our reach into the community and support our Membership efforts.

If you have a little extra time and would like to share it with Radio Milwaukee, we have a handful of volunteer opportunities throughout the year:

Membership Drives
Volunteer during our annual spring and fall membership drives answering phones and taking donations, and you’ll meet lots of fellow 88Nine volunteers and listeners, eat tasty food, and have a great time.

This volunteer opportunity is for you if:

• You’re friendly!
• You’re comfortable talking on the phone
• You have somewhat legible handwriting

Milwaukee Summer Events
During the summer months, we rely on volunteers to be the face and voice of 88Nine at events around Milwaukee.

This volunteer opportunity is for you if:

• You’re friendly and outgoing!
• You’re comfortable talking with strangers
• You’re able to talk about what 88Nine is and does for the community

Rockstar Events
For those that spend 10+ hours volunteering for 88Nine at Milwaukee Summer Events, we have unique opportunities volunteering for events and concerts throughout the year. Once you have reached this 10+ hour threshold, you will receive an email from our volunteer coordinator asking if you’d like to be added to this Rockstar list.
